Scenes of Transient Characters
The world of theatre is full of characters that constantly evolve and change, much like people in real life. Each character is driven by a purpose or goal that they are eager to achieve. Sometimes, they may talk about it openly, share their desires with a trusted confidante, or contemplate their aspirations in transient moments. I sought to capture the essence of these characters through illustrations of their most compelling scenes. By exploring their motivations and struggles, I hope to bring their stories to life and help others appreciate the complex nature of theatrical characters.
Just a moment
Matilde in the garden, her hand outstretched and a sparrow perched upon it. She looks at the bird with tenderness, speaking softly to it as if it were a cherished friend. But her eyes betray a deeper longing, a yearning for the same freedom the sparrow possesses. Suddenly, a child's voice interrupts her reverie and she stiffens, returning to her strict governess persona. The sparrow takes flight, leaving Matilde to hide her true desires once again.
I told you
Mihai steps onto the stage with a snake coiled around her arm, its tongue flicking out as if sensing Noah's presence. "You call yourself an astrologer, but can you predict the outcome of this?" she taunts, holding up the snake as if to strike. Noah remains calm, his expression serene. "Your powers may be impressive, Mihai, but they are nothing compared to the natural forces of the universe," he replies. Mihai bristles at the implication, but before she can respond, the snake suddenly hisses and strikes out, sinking its fangs into Noah's arm. Mihai rushes to Noah's side, unsure of whether her powers can heal the wound or if it's too late.
lets go
Artyom frantically tries to calm his distressed horse, who seems to be in a state of panic. Suddenly, he hears the sound of approaching invaders and realizes that the castle is under attack. Despite his concern for his horse, Artyom knows that he must fulfill his duty and defend the castle. With a heavy heart, he leaves his horse behind and rushes to join the battle.
with the wave
Mirac takes a sip of his wine and gazes at Liepa with admiration. "Your voice is truly a gift," he says, his eyes shining. "But why do you hide away from the world? You could be a star, if only you had the confidence." Liepa takes a sip of her wine, trying to hide her nervousness. "It's not that simple," she says quietly. "I've always been shy, even as a child." Mirac frowns, not understanding. "But you have a talent that could change your life. Why waste it because of some silly fear?" Liepa looks down, feeling ashamed of her shyness. But deep down, she knows it's not something she can just overcome with a glass of wine and some encouragement from a prince. She knows she has to find her own way to shine.
I just started
Lian starts to dance, moving with a sensual and seductive grace that captures the attention of everyone in the room. As she moves, she feels the eyes of the audience on her, watching her every move. But despite the attention she is receiving, Lian can't help but feel a sense of emptiness inside. As the dance comes to an end, she looks out into the crowd, searching for someone who might see her for who she truly is and not just the persona she portrays on stage.
It is me
As Dofi stares at the mask in his hand, he feels a sense of unease wash over him. He wonders how many people in his life are just wearing masks, hiding their true selves from the world. Dofi begins to question whether he too is wearing a mask, afraid to reveal his true self to others. As the weight of this realization sets in, Dofi crumples to the ground in despair, the mask slipping from his grasp.
